The Ask
The foundation came to us with a desire to create a video that showcases John and how his work and philanthropy helped to create a better community for Rapid City, SD. They wanted the video to be fun and attention-grabbing and stay away from a typical documentary styled video.
The Discussion
We began to discuss the conceptualization of the video by starting off with the word “fun”. Interviews had to be a part of this video to describe what John was like and who he was. To build on that, the idea of interviewing children who had no idea who this guy is, gave it the fun vibe the foundation was looking for.
This Final Result
The outcome of the project was a video that grabbed the audience through fun quirky children while allowing adult interviews to tell his story. Coupled with a brief narration, the video told the story of John, his foundation, and what he did to make the Rapid City community, better.
